Where Kona brews!
Since we first opened our doors (and kettles!) over 30 years ago, Kona Brewing has been committed to making locally brewed beers in an environmentally responsible way.
When we outgrew our original brewery, we wanted a way to expand without putting pressure on our island’s precious resources. In 2021, Kona Brewing proudly opened a new 30,000-square-foot sustainable brewery just down the street from the Original Kona Brewery & Pub. With an annual brewing capacity of up to 100,000 barrels and filling locally-made cans on our own canning line, we can efficiently bring fresh beer to the islands throughout the year. Staying local also decreases our carbon footprint and overall impact on the environment.
Our packaged beers are available in your favorite stores, bars and restaurants across Hawaiʻi. Many of our brewerʻs special draft beers are only available at our pubs. Make sure to grab a pint or fill a growler for home; they don’t stick around for long!

Our complimentary shuttle will pick you up at our Kona Pub and whisk you over to our brewery for a guided 60-minute excursion. Sip on a freshly brewed beer as we share a brief history of our beginnings back in 1994. See the brewing process firsthand and discover the top-notch ingredients and sustainable practices; visit our Thirsty Gecko Tasting Room for a private beer tasting, followed by a visit to our shop for exclusive Kona merchandise.
- $20 per person. Tour includes four 4-oz beer samples for those over 21.
- All guests must be 15 years of age or older to participate in the tour. Only those who are 21 years or older will be served alcohol and can enjoy additional pints or tasters at the Thirsty Gecko following the tour.
- The shuttle departs from our Growler Shack, located at the entrance to our Kona Pub. Please arrive 15 minutes before tour time.
